Sorry, Charlie
A remote helpline volunteer is targeted by a stranger who lures women from their homes with a recording of a crying baby.
My Thoughts on Sorry, Charlie
Simple premise, slow execution
The story is easy to follow, but the pacing drags a lot with repeated sequences of Charlie investigating noises that soon become a bit predictable and dull.
Charlie carries the film
Kathleen Kenny puts in a decent performance, even though the script doesn’t help her too much.
The Villain
Cheap mask, flimsy suit, and awkward top hat.
Missed opportunities
We rarely get to see the killer in action before Charlie encounters him, and a more menacing presence probably would have improved the film and provided more tension.
Supporting cast is minimal
The few supporting characters keep the focus on Charlie., and while this is fine, it also highlights how isolated the story feels.
Visuals are above average
Better than standard low-budget horror, with some decent use of shadows and lighting.
Short runtime helps
At 75 minutes, at least the film isn’t too long, but the slow pacing makes it feel longer than it is.
Scares are weak
Moments meant to be tense often come off as fairly amusing, and not in a fun way.
Poor Decisions
Charlie’s repeated poor decisions really stretch the credibility.
Final act redeems
The last 15 minutes deliver a twist that’s not too bad.
Final Thoughts on Sorry, Charlie
Sorry, Charlie is pretty forgettable and dull, but at least it was quite short, so that’s something.
4/10
UP: Kathleen Kenny, short runtime, some effective visuals, final twist
DOWN: The Gentleman, pacing, weak scares, repetitive sequences, lack of tension

A lover of cinema for over 35 years, I have watched many films from around the world in many different genres, yet I still normally always come back to trashy slasher horror films when in doubt. More
And yes, The Godfather 2 is better than The Godfather.
