Santa’s Slay
After a millennium of spreading Christmas cheer, Santa Claus (Bill Goldberg) reverts to his demonic self and gives the gift of fear.
My Thoughts on Santa’s Slay
Bill Goldberg is better than I thought he would be
He actually has some presence – like a demon in a red suit, and he sells every over-the-top moment quite well.
Strong opening scene
It all kicks off with Santa crashing through the chimney, and killing a family instantly.
Kills
The kills are shown off in some inventive ways where Santa takes people out, where it leans into absurdity and enjoys every second.
Fun backstory
The 1,000-year bet with an angel is explained in a short animated sequence, which is surprisingly effective and gives Santa a quirky mythology, which is nice.
Fast pace
At 78 minutes, the film moves quickly, which is key for these type of trashy movies.
The comedy doesn’t always land
The humor is uneven it’s fair to say, and the comedy stuff isn’t its strongest point.
Shaky acting
Most of the performances are quite flat or awkward, which is to be expected in a movie like this, but still.
Completely over the top
It fully embraces absurdity, and that is part of the trashy charm.
Tonally consistent
It never pretends to be serious at any point, and is perfect for fans of “so bad it’s good” holiday horror.
Finale delivers
The showdown with Santa, the angel, and the teenagers wraps the story in a ridiculous, fun climax, even if logic takes somewhat a back seat, which again, is to be expected.
Final Thoughts on Santa’s Slay
Well, it’s s short, and unapologetically ridiculous, where bill Goldberg sells every murderous moment like he is in a wrestling ring.
Perfect for a Christmas horror marathon or anyone who loves absurd mayhem.
Final Score: for trashy dumb fun – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐☆☆☆☆
UP: Bill Goldberg, inventive kills, fast-paced, ridiculous fun
DOWN: Humor, shaky acting, underused actors, not gory enough

Simon Leasher
A lover of cinema for over 35 years, I have watched many films from around the world in many different genres, yet I still normally always come back to trashy slasher horror films when in doubt. More
And yes, The Godfather 2 is better than The Godfather.
