Caught Stealing moves fast, gets increasingly ridiculous as it goes along, and somehow balances tension, violence, dark comedy, and complete nonsense without ever collapsing.
Completely unexpected film from Aronofsky. There's a detail in the camera work worth watching for: as Hank spirals, the camera slowly pulls away from him, externalizing his isolation. It's subtle enough that you feel it before you notice it. Great review.
