I will share my opinion, since I just watched the film. I would not say the film was let down by the script, I think the film had high hopes for the script. Because as for me, the script was solid in the way it was very safe and classy -- simply not hard to understand who is who and doing what in the way archetypes work, nothing new. Played safe to be a solid story: no risk, no gamble, but yet still exciting.
Oh definitely not, I wouldn't go that far at all, as you can still see his prints on it, which is a good thing, but I do think it aren't his usual prints.
