Kathy and Misery always reminds me of this Into to Theater class I took in college. On the first day, the teacher let us know that she once turned down the lead in a play that Kathy Bates was then given. She ended the anecdote with "So you know what that means", and while I noticed several confused faces from my classmates, it seemed clear to me she was inferring that if she had taken that role in the play, she would have had Kathy's career and Oscar.
This teacher was so annoying. There was this exercise where we were supposed to close our eyes and visualize something. While I had no interest in acting, I was still there to at least pass, so I closed my eyes and pretended whatever it was. Suddenly I heard "You are not doing it!" and I open my eyes and some poor dude in the front row is looking all confused, looking around, and she then berated him for a bit about visualization the assignment wrong. I stopped going to class after that, took the F and retook it the next semester.
