Where to watch/stream Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc
Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc is a film I’ll think about for a while, and will no doubt give it another watch at some point.
I don’t even know where to start with the Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc movie because it left me all over the place.
Now I have to add it to my best films of 2025 list.
Plot Summary of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc (Spoiler-Free)

Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc Review: Is It Worth Watching?
Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc doesn’t just deliver on action, it also smacks you with plenty of emotion too.
The visual are fantastic here, and the early scenes, where Denji and Reze are just trying to exist in a restaurant, and it was nice to see anime do “quiet happiness” so well, and then it flips – hard.
School fights at night, shadows and harsh colors everywhere, explosions – this film doesn’t just go from calm to action, it drags you into the emotional weight of it all, and by the time the “bomb” devil shows up, well, get ready.
The relationship between Denji and Reze is brilliantly handled, and Denji, who has always joked about wanting a girlfriend, suddenly feels vulnerable, where you feel both the hope and tension because you never quite know what’s going to happen between them.
Animation-wise, Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc is excellent, and the fight scenes are wonderful but never confusing, and the pacing keeps you watching without anything feeling rushed. The contrasts between calm moments and violent ones hit you because of the way the visuals and colors change to match the mood.
The animation captures both action and emotion without making it feel like a checklist of techniques, where you can see effort in every frame, and the music complements this perfectly, though I will admit, there were a few moments where it leaned a little heavy on the dramatic, but I didn’t mind. It worked for the story.
I also maybe laughed at Denji more than I should, as he’s crude, goofy, impulsive, and sometimes just a disaster, and while Reze softens some of that, it doesn’t erase it, and the film doesn’t spend time pretending they’re perfect.
It’s just two characters who are flawed, yet you’re rooting for them, and the story doesn’t feel like it’s forcing them into a mold just to make you happy, which so many films do.
There’s also something to be said about the emotional honesty of the climax, and while I won’t spoil it, but the way the story balances heartbreak with hope, and trust with betrayal, is handled with care, and by the end, I felt drained, a little sad, but also impressed at how much the film packed into two hours.
Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc isn’t just a movie for action fans., it’s for people who care about characters, who like messy, human stories, and who don’t mind their hearts being tugged a little.
It’s frantic, funny, heartbreaking, and surprisingly thoughtful all at once, and it could have gone on for another hour and I wouldn’t have been bored.

A lover of cinema for over 35 years, I have watched many films from around the world in many different genres, yet I still normally always come back to trashy slasher horror films when in doubt. More
And yes, The Godfather 2 is better than The Godfather.
